Year 10:

 

In Year 10, students cover the first four topics of the new GCSE AQA specification: Health, Relationships and Choices, Free Time and the Media, and Holidays. The four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking are tested on these topics and students prepare a folder of GCSE assessment tasks, the best of which will be submitted for their GCSE Writing and Speaking in Year 11. These written and spoken tasks count for 60% of their GCSE. Students have access to online materials specifically designed for the AQA GCSE specification to help them to practise grammar, as well as reading and listening comprehension.
